In a milestone moment for the PSG Academy network, a group of 16 talented U14 players from PSG Academy USA and Canada completed their first official trip to France in June 2025. This historic journey offered a rare opportunity to experience the renowned PSG Academy Pro Residency and compete at a high level in the heart of European football.
A Two-Part Journey: Evian to Paris
The trip was divided into two phases. It began with full immersion at the PSG Academy Pro training center in Evian, followed by an exciting second phase in Paris, where players took part in intensive training and high-level competition—fully immersed in the professional PSG environment.
Held from June 9th to 18th, this initiative offered selected North American players—identified throughout the season by the PSG Academy USA Technical Director—a complete professional experience at the heart of European football.
The Complete Pro Residency Experience
Living and training like pros, the North American delegation discovered firsthand why the PSG Academy Pro Residency in the Lake Geneva region is considered a top destination for elite youth development.
Under the expert guidance of Simon Rubinsztjan (Head of Methodology, PSG Academy USA), Lionel Ackiana (Technical Director, PSG Academy British Columbia and the head coaches from the Pro Residency Academy, players followed a comprehensive development program that balances elite performance with personal growth.
Set against the stunning natural beauty of Lake Geneva, the experience extended beyond soccer training. Players enjoyed organized lake outings, hiking, and rafting adventures, offering the perfect blend of athletic and personal development.
From premium accommodations and nutritionist-designed meals to advanced recovery protocols including cryotherapy and compression therapy, every detail of the Residency reflects the same professional standards as PSG’s first team.
Testing Against European Competition
The Evian phase concluded with a competitive match against the youth team of Thonon Evian Grand Genève, giving players a valuable opportunity to test themselves against strong European opposition and build team chemistry.
For some, this was a return to France after competing in the PSG Academy World Cup. For others, it was their first time visiting the country of the club they proudly represent abroad.
Paris: The Ultimate PSG Experience
The second leg of the journey took place in Paris, where players faced top-level clubs from the capital. These matches helped sharpen their tactical understanding and performance under pressure.
A major highlight of the Paris experience was the exclusive stadium tour of Parc des Princes. Players explored the locker rooms, walked through the players’ tunnel, visited the club’s trophy room, and even enjoyed the iconic zipline ride, an unforgettable experience.
Even more special was the group’s rare access to PSG’s new state-of-the-art training center in Poissy, inaugurated in 2024. There, players not only trained in the world-class facility but also had the unique opportunity to observe a PSG youth team in action.
Bonds Beyond Football
This experience created memories that extended beyond the pitch. It transformed individual players into teammates and fostered friendships that will last a lifetime. The combination of elite training, cultural exposure, and team-building activities provided a well-rounded experience that elevated both their game and personal growth.
This unique program is a testament to PSG Academy’s global vision: delivering exceptional opportunities for young talent and deepening the connection between its international network and French roots.
